MASTERS 2022 Round Up

Now that the dust has settled, we are looking back over an especially memorable trip to the Augusta National for the 2022 edition of the Masters. After an extended break, due to the pandemic, it was a trip filled with so many positive memories, as we were joined by guests both old and new, that we are still talking about it today.

We welcomed guests from all over the UK, as well as the USA, Portugal, Ireland, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, to our twenty-one host houses, which, in typical SGH style, were stocked full of treats, food and drink, as well as some Masters-themed gifts.

On the course, Tiger’s return, both to golf and a Major tournament, he treasures so dearly, was a real highlight for everyone. Off the course, the SGH team were treated to a trip through one of sport’s most iconic settings, as we ventured up Magnolia Drive. This set the tone for a stunning last couple of days at the Augusta National, as we witnessed a McIlroy masterclass on the final day, which, unfortunately for him, wasn’t enough to upset 2022’s star man and world number one Scottie Scheffler.

As a precursor to the tournament, a real highlight for us was seeing one of our host house residents, 1991 Masters winner Ian Woosnam, treat a fellow guest to an impromptu golf lesson at the breathtaking Champion’s Treat, followed by lunch with Gary Player. For us, this summed up what a trip to the Masters each year is all about; our guests enjoying each other’s company, regaling stories of old and making friends for the future in our host houses, on the course, or whilst watching the very finest in the world ply their trade at Augusta.

Finally, we’d like to thank everyone who joined us for our 2022 edition at a place so close to our heart. From, our amazing guests, to those who played at Augusta and the wonderful staff who worked alongside us to deliver a memorable US Masters weekend in Augusta.
Until next time.
